Apologies for the radio silence for the last couple of days, unfortunately I’ve been ill with a nasty cold, but I’m all better now…hack, hack…silently dies…
But seriously, during my period of ickiness there has been some big Doctor Who related news.
First off we got to see the 13th Doctor’s new logo.
And we also found one of the surnames of the 13th Doctor’s new companions.
Mandip Gill’s companion will be known as Yasmin Khan.
Personally, I really like the name Yasmin, it has a lovely meaning as the Persian for ‘Jasmine Flower’ and the surname Khan also packs some serious clout as the Turkish Surname meaning ‘Ruler’ or ‘Nobleman’.
Well I always enjoy the prospect of a new Doctor and I really can’t wait to meet 13. I think it’s good that the show is trying to grow and take risks, they may not work, they may be brilliant, but if the show wants to keep going it needs to shake things up.
It’s going to give them more options to cast the doctor for sure. But at the same time, I feel everyone and everything has to have a problem with something. So I’m curious to see how it goes. I am super behind on my Doctor Who.
It’s going to be really interesting to see what happens. Also, I am really looking forward to meeting the new companions as well, I’m already a fan of Mandip from Hollyoaks, Tosin is very hot IMO, and Bradley should be really fun.
Well, I started a few years ago. Then they took it off Netflix and Amazon didn’t have it. Then Amazon finally had it on prime. But I have 2 kids lol and a lot going on. I’m somewhere with David Tennant’s Doctor with Donna as his companion. My sister makes fun of me because I’m that far behind. But when I get to watch what I want, it’s late at night and I’m usually falling asleep.
I think you have a very valid excuse, but I would say Matt Smith’s first 2 series are good, especially series 5 & I love Peter Capaldi as the doctor, so give him a go as well, when you get the chance, especially series 10 the writing is good & Bill Potts is an excellent companion
I can’t wait for the new season but I’m going to admit I really don’t like the logo. I fell out of love with Doctor Who a bit the last few years, so I’m really hoping a new doctor will remind me how much I used to love it!

Agreed. I like the shot of the stars and the hill, but I’m not so keen on the font.

Same! I’m hoping it will just grow on me, it reminds me a lot of the Doctor Strange logo and that’s all I can see when I look at it!
